Open-handed Vision
Open-handed Vision
Hello, I'm Akith Madurapperuma. With my friends Dilan Bandara, Sandiv Wijesiriwardane, Dinil Wijetunga, and Dilain Silva, I initiated a dedicated group to support our local Buddhist Temple, the American Buddhist Seminary. Recognizing the needs of the elderly monks, we felt compelled to step in and ensure the temple remains a place of high quality and spiritual nourishment. To guarantee success, we equally distributed work throughout the five of us.
Our journey began with regular clean-ups, and as we established a solid foundation, our vision expanded. One of our proudest moments was creating a beautiful Vesak Lantern, which brought joy and light to our community. This act of service demonstrated how we could significantly empower and illuminate those around us.
Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans. We aim to organize large-scale food and supply drives for underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka, our homeland. Additionally, we are committed to supporting homeless individuals in our local area by providing food in drinks.
With your support, we can turn these impactful ideas into reality. Join us in our mission to bring positive change and uplift those in need. Your involvement and generosity are vital to our success. Thank you for considering our cause!
